A 2023 meta-analysis (🔗 link in bio) of 20 trials found that black seed oil (from the Nigella sativa plant) has a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect. It led to reductions in inflammatory markers like C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), and malondialdehyde (MDA), and improvements in antioxidant markers like total antioxidant capacity, glutathione peroxidase, and superoxide dismutase. It also regulates Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg cell balance, CD4+/CD8+ differentiation, and T-lymphocyte profiles. This explains why black seed oil is so useful for reducing inflammation and balancing the immune system in autoimmune disorders.
If you haven’t heard the news, I recently released a brand new herbalist kokobi product, Bio-Avail Omega+, which is a blend of ultra-pure fish oil and the most bioavailable forms of curcumin and black seed oil. You get the benefits of omega-3s plus two health-boosting nutrients in one products
